SOLID WOOD

We build doors from solid wood using traditional mortise and tennon joinery to insure the integrity of the doors for years to come. 

Depending on the wood species, we generally get raw lumber from the mills in 10/4, 8/4 and 4/4 thicknesses.  The wood is then hand sorted to determine the best use for each piece (to the stile, parts or panel stack they go,).  When a piece of lumber is selected from one of our sorted lumber stacks for a specific job, it is planed to the required thickness, rough cut to size and it's on it's way to becoming a custom wood product for one of our customers.

PANEL THICKNESS

Lesser quality doors cut corners by using panels that are thinner than the door stiles and rails.  Unless the door style dictates otherwise, our stiles, rails and panels are the same overall thickness. 

Using panels of the same thickness as the door parts produces a sound, solid door with greater insulation from the elements, noise and intruders.

MADE TO FIT

Because our doors and other products are made to order in our Spokane Washington facility (not than pre-made in some unknown location), we have the ability to create doors of almost any thickness, height, width, style or wood species.

DISTRESSING

Our skilled craftsmen have perfected the art of distressing wood.  Adding a distress to a door or piece of furniture seems to give it a warm comforting filling, as if it has been around for centuries. 

The style of door and taste of the customer determines the amount of distress that is applied to the product.  The distress  can range from no distress at all to a heavily hand planed distress with chatter, mars, nicks and wormholes.  Because the distresses are all done by hand, any combination of distress techniques can be applied to a specific piece. FINISHING

While our doors do look great with a simple clear finish applied, our finish group specializes in a hand rubbed 5+ coat finish that results in a rich elegant appearance that looks and feels fabulous.

CARVING

We can hand tool a custom carving in your door or furniture piece creating a distinctly unique look.

Crafted Northwest Doors is a smaller medium sized company that proudly includes in it's family of employees skilled craftsmen with the artistic touch and honed skills to take a customers idea or requirements, a pile of raw lumber and create with them a one of a kind work of artistic beauty.

We work with our customers, their designers, architects and builders to create custom quality wood products that make us all proud to say "we were involved in it's creation".

From doors through casing, cabinet doors, furniture and hardware, we provide our customers with custom options helping them create a space that expresses their individual tastes. 

We have been manufacturing custom wood doors in Spokane  Washington since 1999.  While we do produce products from most any wood species, our favorite is Knotty Alder.

In addition to our own line of solid wood doors we also carry a compliment of veneered doors to insure that all your door needs are met.

FULL SERVICE FACILITY

We are a custom woodworking facility with all the traditional and latest woodworking equipment enabling us to create exactly the product that our customers have helped design.  Our manufacturing process starts with raw lumber from the mill and includes over 20 steps of quality woodworking to create the luxury products our customer demand.

DEALERS

A quality door dealer assists the homeowner or contractor in finding the appropriate style, finish, thickness and size of door for the project at hand. 

The dealer will insure that the required components (jambs, astragals, casings, brick molding, transoms, sidelites and hardware) are ordered to produce the desired finished product. 

 DEALER SERVICES

The dealer may hang the doors at their site or order them pre-hung from the factory. 

Should problems arise once the doors are on site, the dealer can help expedite their resolution and insure customer satisfaction.
